The concept

Based on our experience with traumatized children with tube dependency, we have developed the concept of affective reconstruction over the past two years. It aims to help the infants or toddlers experience, express, and regulate their affects. Therapy requires a lot of rest and attention to the needs of the child and its parents. The infant had good reasons to withdraw. Even if he doesnt no longer need to protect himself, he doesn't know if there's a threat waiting for him or not.

Therefore, the most important element of therapy is the establishment of a stable and safe therapeutic relationship with the infant. Shutting down is a psychological response to overwhelming experiences. In this state the whole central nervous system will avoid anything what is new or feels unfamiliar. In order to enable the infant to approach and thus gain access to its affective experiences, we accompany your infants to sense their emotions and become more self-aware.
The way it works is by sharing emotions in a playful environment where the child can integrate experiences on different levels.

In doing so, we follow the infant and absorb its first initiatives in order to achieve a vitality that was lost due to the lived negative experiences
